This course will focus on the essentials that you need to know in Photoshop to enhance your skill set. You will be able to apply the skills from this course to all genres and areas of photography.
Week 1: Dodge and Burn – in detail!
What are we talking about? Lightening and Darkening your images. (The tools are based on the traditional darkroom techniques for regulating exposure on specific areas of the image.) So basically you are further controlling the exposure after you’ve taken the image. This can really add the pazazz to your images!
Week 2: Blending modes – they are our friends!
Blending modes are fantastic tools for achieving extra wow in your images. This is because they change the way that a layer reacts with the layers underneath it! There are lots to play with and use to your advantage!
Week 3: Frequency Separation – getting used to it!
This tool is a biggy! This is the one which gives you complete control over the delicate textures and colours in your image. This is where you can soften the skin, without degrading the skin texture. Termed ‘the commercial retoucher’s secret weapon’!
Week 4: Liquifying and Evaluating the Image!
To liquify or not to liquify? This tool can create subtle or drastic changes to your images, e.g. great for smoothing out areas to compliment your subjects, taking creases out of fabrics, creating artistic effects, etc.
