COURSE SUMMARY
The Course will focus on the main areas of how to use light, studio lighting and some natural light, posing, and essential editing
Week 1 – Light, Science, and a bit of ‘Magic’ – In this we will really learn how light works, how it has different features and what they are.
Week 2 – Light that face – understanding proper lighting patterns. This covers various lighting types including Butterfly, Loop and Rembrandt
Week 3 – Adding a second and third source – increasing depth and separation
Week 4 – Understanding Posing – as Bruce Lee would have said, the art of posing without posing…
Week 5 – Bring the posing and lighting together – Let us create those timeless, masterful portraits, the finer details
Week 6 – Pose, Light and refine – Creating the whole portrait.
Who is Gary Hill?
Not only a full time, multi-award winning professional photographer, a Master Crafstman, panel member and Judge at The Guild of Photographers, a Fellow with The Societies, ambassador for Digitalab and Click Props, he is a visionary for Elinchrom too.
Gary is an artist and educator of Portraiture Photography widely known for his ability to use available and additional light to capture his magic; alongside his posing techniques for adults, children and families he is popular for his expertise in post-production. He has delivered talks to 1000s of photographers in worldwide (1600 in 2018 alone.)

LET'S POSE, LIGHT & REFINE; STUDIO LIGHTING with LIGHTING LEGEND GARY HILL
Enjoy a brand new style of learning.
Easier to absorb. Plenty of time to practice. No danger of information overload.
Ask all the questions, learn all the tricks and carry out plenty of practice, just as you would with in person training! A model will be present too for some of the sessions.
All, from the comfort and convenience of your own home or studio.
This is the equivalent of a 2-day course but it is being delivered in bite sized pieces of around 90-120 minutes* each, spread over 6 weeks.
Why? It will be easier to absorb, and you can practice in between sessions.
Each week you will learn a new skill with a whole week to practice it out; the questions may mount up, but that's okay, because you'll be tuning in again before you know it!
The experience will be priceless.
It is fully interactive. It's live! You, your class mates, Gary Hill and often a model too!
There will be a maximum of 12 students alongside you.
The group size will be limited to ensure you get as much as possible from the course.
On top of that the group will have its own dedicated private Facebook group where delegates can share learning, experiences and ask questions in between each session.
A Training certificate will be issued on completion and it includes a free submission for Qualified Status with the Guild of Photographers*.
