Katie Hughes
Last year’s Guild Astro Image of the Year Winner Katie Hughes is an amateur Astronomer and Astrophotographer who has been capturing and imaging nightscapes since 2016.
Not long after that she delved into what’s known in the “Astro community” as “The Rabbit hole” (a term used when you progress from photographing night images of Stars, Aurora and Milky Way etc into photographing deep space objects, nebulae, planets and Galaxies in our night sky with more sophisticated equipment.
Like everyone else she had to start at the beginning and learn the ropes to produce what she can now and she’s keen to share that knowledge (and her contagious passion of course)!

The topics that will be covered are –
> Gear (Equipment)
> Camera Settings
> Focusing
> Location Scouting
> Software
> Processing & Editing
> Apps for night sky navigation
Katie will also make available a raw image on a google drive for those who wish to participate in stacking and editing a Milky Way image to show what detail, and colour can be brought out. (laptops required).
